Project authorized by Chinese Academy of Social Science: The research on Finance Supporting to Urbanization

    If we try to predict some hot point on economic development of China in ten or fifteen years, ‘the construction of new urbanization and the integration of urban and rural area’ is undoubtedly the hottest topic. The Party’s Central Committee and the State Council have proposed the blue plan of the modern urbanization, which is protecting agriculture product and eco-environment, the blue plan is going to emphasize and involve the importance of farmers, achieving equalization of the facility and public service between urban and rural area, enhancing the development of society, and finally realizing common prosperity.  The modern urbanization is not only the successor of traditional urbanization, but also added dynamic on the prosperity of the whole society.  Above all, in the duration of the economic transition, the meaning of modern urbanization is far beyond its original purpose. It will become the central increasing power for the economy in the future.
    It can be easily predicted that under the trend of modern urbanization, a new wave of capital, technology and labor shall gather intensively. The construction of infrastructure, the developing of modern agriculture, the emerging of rural based industry and other new changes are going to require strong support on the financial field. What role is finance going to play in the procedure of modern urbanization is a very meaningful question that we need to be answered.
