Professor Hu Attends CAIJING Annual Conference 2018

Professor Hu Bin was invited to attend and delivered a keynote speech at a summit forum on China’s non-performing loan industry, as an important part of the CAIJING Annual Conference 2018 held during Nov. 28 to 30 in Beijing.

“Financial regulation should be further strengthened, and the focus should be on functional supervision and behavior supervision, so as to cover the shortage of consumer protection,” said Professor Hu.

When it came to how to make financial innovation under the legal framework, he said, “there is no innovation without the rule of law. The increasing financial innovation should be treated in a scientific and rational way. We need to make it legalized and market oriented. Besides encouraging innovation, we should strike a balance between innovation and regulation.”

Professor Hu also emphasized the importance of law-making on financial technology. Current laws in China are not enough to protect customer, especially their private information.
